What a great first full week of school for the Drummond Bulldogs! This week our junior high and high school softball team played at Timberlake on Monday with the high school team beating Timberlake 12-8. High school softball also defeated Shidler at home in an 8-0 run-rule win Tuesday. They finished Runner-up in the the Hinton Tournament, with a 1-0 win over #4 ranked Binger-Oney, a 16-1 win over Geary, an 8-3 win over Sayre, a 3-2 win over Merritt and a 0-1 loss to Hinton in a hard-fought 8 innings. The team is 12-1 and ranked #12 in Class A.
As for baseball, our junior high team is 6-0 this week, beating Frontier 8-1, Okarche 6-5, and Burlington 11-1. They played in the Ripley Tournament Friday and Saturday and came home with the Championship with a 10-0 win over Glencoe, an 8-2 win over Preston, and a 1-0 win over OCA. High School baseball currently has a record of 4-4. They played in the Leedey Tournament over the weekend. They lost to Dale 5-11, beat Vici 10-1, and finished with a loss in the Consolation Championship to Cheyenne-Reydon 3-12 on Saturday.
On Wednesday, FFA had their back to school bash with corn hole, food, and a dodgeball tournament. Everyone seemed to have a good time and was a great way to start the school year.
The officer elections for Student Council were also held this week. The new officers are Lexi Mann, President; Gavin Hedges, Vice President; Aiden Edwards, Treasurer; and Asher Holmes, Secretary.
